Cambridge After School Program Handbook

Statement of Purpose

The purpose of the program is to provide a safe and secure place for children to go during the after school hours.The Cambridge After School Program will strive to enrich the lives of all children who participate in the program.

Program Goals

• To provide a structured and safe envionment which stesses responsible behavior, respect for others and positive attitudes for all students.
• To provide opportunities that encourages social, emotional, intellectual, and physical growth.
• To provide quality after school, age - appropriate academic and enrichment activities.
• To provide a caring staff who will interact with the students in group and individual situations.
• To provide communication with regarding their children's general well being.
  

Hours and Days in session

We will provide care from 3:15-5:30 every day that school is in session. We will provide care until 6:00 only if absolutely necessary. There will be an additional charge when the children stay past 5:30.

If there is no school, there will be no after school program. We will provide care on early out days. This also means if there is no school due to weather, we will not provide care that day. If school is released early due to weather, we will provide care.

Daily schedule

The following schedule is a typical day at the After School Program. However, the schedule may vary slightly to accommodate the size of the program and the grade level of students.

3:15-3:45 Check-in and playtime to release energy (playtime will be outside-weather permitting)

3:45-4:00 Snack

4:00-5:30 Homework will be done during this time. Many other activities may also take place during this time 

   depending on the day and the number of children. There may be craft time, computer time, gym time,

   game time etc.

Pick up time/ Late fee schedule

The program ends at 5:30 p.m. If your child needs to stay until 6:00 there is an additional charge. If your child is not picked up by 6:00, you will be charged a late fee of $1.00 per minute, per child starting at 6:01 according to the school clock.
